Jason had to go back to the office tonight and I thought it would be fun to go with him. So we put Piper to bed and my mom stayed home with her so we could have a romantic night at the office. Now, it seems like I’m being facetious but I’m really not. You see, the first year of our marriage had a lot of these nights. Nights where I would hang out with Jason while he worked late into the night, listening to his music, looking at the back of his head, laying on the floor, dancing around in the hallways. Sometimes I would do my own work or read a book or help him with something. But I just liked being with him. In fact, I stayed at the office with him late the night that I went into labor with Piper. So, this is kind of a walk down memory lane. Only this time we’re at a different office. Usually when I come to the office with him I have Piper with me and I’m just trying to keep her from tearing apart the office plants or flooding the kitchen with the water cooler (which is apparently the coolest thing to an eighteen month old). This time I get to just chill with him. Of course I stole his iPhone and took pictures and am writing this blog. But, I like to support my husband since he does bring home most of the money. Plus, I score major good wife points when I do stuff like this.

A Knight Out
Martha is watching Piper! You know you have grown up when the first thing you do on your night out is buy diapers. Looking forward to seeing “The Dark Knight”.
Why Is My Child Awake?
Sometimes I look forward to Piper’s naptime just a little too much. Today is one of those days. I took some medicine that makes you sleepy (just a little sleepy) and now I would really like her to settle down in her crib so I can take a little snooze. What I need to do is get on the treadmill, but I may postpone that until later. By the sounds coming through the baby monitor, it seems that Piper is doing Olympic training of some kind.
I will tell you the excitement bullet points of this week in the Sperske home.
- Piper went pee pee on the potty and got to eat 2 m&m’s.
- Jason got an iPhone and Genoa got his old iPod touch (on which she is writing this blog).
- Genoa had a cold for the last week and then had an allergic reaction to some Chinese food and had hives all over her body. Boo for MSG.
- Genoa got 2 consecutive nights off of rehearsal because of some crazy drama with the show. She does enjoy the break though.
- Piper is still the most awesome baby ever.
Okay, she might be asleep! Can’ t waste time! Got to take a little nap and then get a run in. We’ll see…
