Earthquake

Filed under: Uncategorized — genoa @ 5:22 am

I woke up at 4:09 a.m. to the sounds of an earthquake. I didn’t really feel it as much as I just heard the house shake. I looked at a website that tracks earthquakes (earthquake.usgs.gov) and saw that there was a 2.9 earthquake near Hayward. I’m glad that this was on their earthquake list because I always think I feel earthquakes in the middle of the night and it’s really just my imagination or Jason moving the bed or something. So, now, here I am, wide awake almost an hour later.

In this awake time in the middle of the night I did order Piper’s halloween costume online. I was going to try and make her a halloween costume but I remembered how hard it was for me to make my costume (as a pumpkin patch) last year and I thought I’d spend the 30 bucks to make my life easier. It’s from Pottery Barn Kids and it’s so cute. She’s going to be a pumpkin. This is only fitting since we call her Pumpkin-head all the time and I was a pumpkin patch for halloween last year. I thought it would great if I could make her a gourd costume but that’s out of my league. And, Jason was a pumpkin for his first haloween. Apparently his mom made his costume using hanger wire and it was kinda dangerous. But he made it through.

The one cool thing about waking up in the middle of the night is sitting up in your bed and praying for everyone in your house while they’re still asleep. That’s kinda nice. God is teaching me about prayer lately and I’m really enjoying growing in that area of my life.

Well, friends, I should try to get back to bed. I’m going to be tired in the morning. Wait, it is the morning. I’ll be tired when Piper wakes up in about an hour (hopefully not less).

Oh, here’s a picture of Piper that our friend, Cathy took. She’s a great photographer. (Click on the link, I don’t really know how to do this stuff.)

And here’s her just having fun. You can click on the picture to view it bigger.

She’s got heart-melting eyes
